The Power Electronics Solutions (PES) Group of the Rogers Corporation is presenting two product expansions from the curamik® cooler product family at the SPIE Photonics West Conference & Exhibition from 1 to 6 February. The two new, water-cooled laser diode coolers efficiently derive the heat from powerful laser diodes on the smallest surfaces, improve performance efficiency and extend the lifespan. curamik CoolPerformance Plus coolers are manufactured for outstanding cooling performance from OFHC copper and a highly conductive ceramic substrate, which, in combination, produces a precisely controllable coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE).
In addition to curamik CoolPerformance / Plus, the material-based laser and photonics cooling solutions curamik CoolPower / Plus and curamik CoolEasy will also be shown. curamik CoolPower / Plus coolers are produced from several layers of pure copper. The coolers are manufactured in the unique curamik bonding process in order to achieve hermetic, multi-layer structures without solder or additional adhesive layers. The curamik cooling solutions are also used for cooling high-performance LED and Lidar applications.
Photonics West is the world’s largest multi-disciplinary event for laser, photonics and biomedical optics products and technologies, with more than 22,000 visitors expected for the one-week event in 2020 with 1,400 exhibiting companies. Photonics West includes a scientific conference with over 5,200 specialist presentations in three areas (biomedical optics and biophotonics, laser sources and lasers as well as optoelectronic materials and devices). At Stand 4360, the staff of Rogers PES will present examples of their latest coolers and advise on the application of the products on lasers, photonic designs and other applications.
