The Teseo-LIV4F is a tiny, standalone, low-power, global navigation satellite system (GNSS) module with sub-meter positioning accuracy for embedded geolocation applications like fleet management, insurance black-boxes, asset tracking, drones, anti-theft systems, people and pet location, vehicle tracking, public transportation and more.
The STMicroelectronics Teseo-LIV4F GNSS dual-band module, available from Mouser, delivers superior accuracy in an ultra-compact (9.7 mm x 10.1 mm), low-power form factor. The device leverages ST’s Teseo IV single-die receiver technology, including L1 and L5 band support, for improved positioning accuracy (-162-dBm tracking sensitivity) and extended multi-constellation compatibility (GPS/Galileo/Glonass/BeiDou/QZSS), including navigation with Indian constellations (NavIC or IRNSS, the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System).
The Teseo-LIV4F module pairs an onboard temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) with a dedicated real-time clock (RTC) oscillator to support real-time assisted GNSS for improved time-to-first fix (TTFF). It also provides real-time assisted GNSS that allows prediction of satellite data based on previous observations. Operating with 49 mA GNSS L1 and L5 tracking current and 10 μA standby current extends battery runtime in power-conscious applications.
The Teseo-LIV4F module is certified per CE, FCC and ICES regulations, simplifying development and speeding the path to market. The operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C permits use in harsh environments such as factories and outdoors.
The STMicroelectronics Teseo-LIV4F Tiny GNSS dual-band module is supported by the EVB-LIV4F evaluation board and is available to order from Mouser. The EVB-LIV4F is a complete development and demonstration platform for the Teseo-LIV4F module, including a GNSS antenna and a USB cable. An easy-to-use graphic user interface (GUI), available to download from STMicroelectronics, enables users to monitor and configure the Teseo-LIV4F module.
