Distributor Rutronik presents the new step-down monolithic synchronous DC-DC converter L6986 from ST. It offers high flexibility due to several adjustable parameters,

The L6986, housed in a HTSSOP16 package, is the first member of the step-down monolithic synchronous DC-DC converters family. It features an output current of up to 2A and input voltage range from 4 to 38V, an operating IQ of 30µA and a switching frequency of up to 2MHz. It allows synchronous rectification; a current and voltage protection is embedded. With these features, the DC-DC converter provides high efficiency and compactness, reduced BOM costs, high design flexibility, robustness and reliability. This makes it ideal for industrial applications requiring high efficiency, as well as factory and building automation applications and PLCs.
