The Genio 420 microprocessor (MPU) is based on a 6nm process and engineered for embedded applications that require reliable, low-power edge AI and GenAI. With support for Android, Yocto Linux, and Ubuntu, the Genio 420 is an ideal solution for home automation, smart appliances, commercial displays, and digital signage, among other applications.
Integrated AI Processing, Graphics and Connectivity
The MediaTek Genio 420 GenAI Capable IoT Platform, now shipping from Mouser, features an integrated 8th-generation MediaTek Neural Processing Unit (NPU) delivering 6.1 TOPS (7.2 TOPS total system) for complex AI tasks, such as object detection, image classification, and speech recognition. The NPU also enables on-device support for GenAI applications and leading Large Language Models (LLMs). The Genio 420 Platform features an octa-core processor with two Arm® Cortex®-A78 cores and six Arm Cortex-A55 cores, allowing for efficient edge performance in compact designs. With an Arm Mali™ G57 MC2 Graphics GPU and single image signal processor, the Genio 420 supports dual 2.5K60 displays or a single display up to Ultrawide 5K60. It also supports 4K video encoding and decoding, enabling a wide range of display and camera applications.
The Genio 420 platform includes integrated Wi-Fi® 6E and Bluetooth® 5.3 support and expansion options for Wi-Fi 7, 5G, and RedCap connectivity. The platform’s security features include Arm TrustZone®, secure boot, and crypto engine.
