For shorter EV charging times: Omron’s single pole miniature power relays of the G6Q series at Rutronik

by donpedro

Flat dimensions with high switching current: the G6Q relays impress with their robustness and stability in the smallest of spaces. As the replacement of the Omron G8P, they come smaller with the same footprint. With a switching current of 36A@250VAC, 10,000 switching operations are possible, and with 30A@250VAC even 100,000. The main area of application is the AC safety shutdown in EV chargers with high output power, which is needed for shorter charging times. They are also used in other safety-related applications such as ground and air heat pumps, lifts and lifts, and ventilation and temperature controllers. The G6Q series relays are available at https://www.rutronik24.com.

By reducing the voltage applied to the coil after the nominal voltage has been applied for 100ms of relay operation, the current consumption is reduced to a low twelve percent compared to the nominal consumption of the coil, and thus to 35 percent of the nominal voltage of the coil.

The monostable relays are available with a coil voltage of 12V and a coil resistance of 102.9Ω, as well as 24V voltage and 411.4Ω resistance.

Other features:

• 10kV impulse withstand voltage (between coil and contacts)
• Operating ambient temperature 85°C
• Complies with cULus, EN and CQC requirements
