Altus Group, a leading distributor of capital equipment for electronics assembly, will highlight its a range of innovative products at the What’s New in Electronics (WNIE) Exhibition at NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire from 18-19 September 2019, including Koh Young’s newest ‘Smart’ products.
A team of experts will be on hand to demonstrate some of the most innovative technology on the market for those within the electronics industry. Much of the equipment being exhibited is focused on the Industry 4.0, concept helping to improve customers’ efficiency with ‘Smart’ solutions.
One product being showcased at WNIE and is helping to maximise production efficiency and control for today’s advanced electronics manufacturing is the KSMART Solution from Koh Young. KSMART software incorporates an ‘Intelligent Platform’ ensuring the highest level of connectivity for all the inspection stations, enhancing overall automation capability. This highly intuitive software works with modern manufacturing challenges of smaller and more complex components allowing for greater flexibility requirements for high-end/high-mix productions.
KSMART enables real-time analysis of defects providing true 3D inspection data obtained from Koh Young’s 3D inspection systems. This data is essential for finding root causes of defects, and achieving process optimisation. The software also suggests ‘Copy Exact’ for multiple production lines and even different sites, as it provides the ability to control multiple inspection systems with standardised conditions and recipes.
Altus will also demonstrate equipment from Swedish company, Optilia, leaders in the design and development of visual inspection instruments. Desktop systems to be demonstrated at the stand will include Optilia’s latest BGA inspection platform which produces high-resolution digital pictures with exceptional colour and detail definition. It creates sharp images of solder balls under BGA packages up to 10 rows and to 40 µm component stand-off. Flexia BGA is designed according to the requirements of electronics manufacturers regarding flexibility, image quality and time and cost-effectiveness. It is also customisable and easily integrated with automatic board handling, to provide ergonomic inspection worktables.
