Samway introduces the SMW02B100, a feature rich, low cost MCH that was designed for industrial / military / telecom applications where complex managed GbE switches are not required. The SMW02B100 MCH uses an unmanaged GbE switch that reduces the total costs with components and software. The plug edge connector used to interface with the backplane, provides better and more reliable contact compared with other solutions that use PCB gold pads. This makes it an ideal candidate for applications running in harsh environments.
The MCH is the heart of a MicroTCA system. Its main functions are: system management (IPMI controlled power management, electronic keying, hot-swap of AMCs) and Ethernet switching.
