DAU, an Austrian company founded in 1970, is part of MIBA group and has specialized in the design and manufacturing of high quality cooling solutions for decades. Due to its focussed product portfolio, DAU is able to address also high-end cooling applications. DAU provides technical support for the solution of thermal problems. Furthermore, DAU is distinguished by its in-house modern testing department, which is equipped with state-of-the-art testing equipment.

What are heat sinks and what are they used for? In power electronics, heat losses occur which have to be dissipated in order to protect the electronics from becoming derated or damaged. To achieve this, heat sinks made from solid or hollow aluminium are used, onto which the electronic components are mounted. For the case of air cooling, the heat is removed with or without a fan by the means of extended surfaces called fins. For the case of liquid cooling, heat is removed using a specifically engineered internal cooling circuit. Heat pipes can be used to upgrade an air-cooled design towards the performance of liquid cooling.

Reliability and service life of every electronic circuit depends on the operating temperature, which highlights the importance of adequate cooling.

DAU Thermal Engineers develop the most appropriate cooling solution for your challenging application.
DAU has positioned itself as the competent development partner for thermal solutions provider under the heading of “DAU Thermal Engineers”. Its target groups are electronics and mechanical development engineers. The main goal is to engineer suitable solutions for challenging thermal applications. DAU is well known as the flexible and reliable engineering partner in the industry.

The focus of DAU is on providing thermal engineering services. We have the capability to work our way into the customer application, and have the development and test equipment to support our customers’ projects all the way to hardware validation.

At DAU, a variety of technologies are available so that the optimum cooling solution can be engineered in close collaboration with our customers.
