Mouser Offers Wide Range of Wireless Modules and Antennas to Enable Innovative Designs

Mouser Spotlight: Wireless Modules and Antennas

by gabi

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, added several new products to its IoT and cellular connectivity portfolio recently, including wireless SoCs and antennas. Alongside providing engineers with the latest wireless products for their next designs, Mouser also helps engineers with their diverse challenges and solutions in RF wireless design through its RF and Wireless Resource page. Achieving reliable and resilient wireless connectivity continues to underpin many use cases, from cellular and small cell base stations to industrial and smart home applications.

This month’s wireless connectivity product highlights available from Mouser include the following:

  • The SimpleLink CC2651R3 2.4 GHz wireless microcontrollers from Texas Instruments are capable of supporting a single protocol, such as Zigbee®, Bluetooth® Low Energy, or TI’s SimpleLink 15.4 stack. The 48 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M4 microcontroller core also hosts a transceiver with a +5 dBm transmit output and a receiver sensitivity of -104 dBm. Additional features include 352 KB of flash memory, multiple analogue and digital peripherals, and an AES 128-bit cryptographic accelerator. The MCU power consumption is typically 2.91 mA in active mode, dropping to 0.8 µA in standby mode, and 0.1 µA in shutdown.
  • The ANT-W63WSx blade-style Wi-Fi® 6/6E/7 antennas from Linx Technologies are a compact series of ground plane-independent half-wave dipole antennas that provide 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz operation and are available with hinged and rotating SMA or RP-SMA connections. They feature an omnidirectional radiation pattern, a 50Ω impedance, and a maximum VSWR of 3.5:1 across the range. Typical applications include smart home networking, IoT and IIoT nodes, and remote monitoring devices.
  • The ceiling-mounted CFSA69594Px 5G antennas from Laird External Antennas are suitable for a wide range of indoor 5G applications. These ultra-low-profile antennas have a UL94-V0 flammability rating and can mount directly to ceiling tiles or hard ceilings, maintaining décor and building aesthetics. Supporting an operating frequency range from 698 MHz to 5925MHz, and capable of handling up to 50 Watts, the antennas exhibit an average VSWR better than 1.4:1. The nominal impedance is 50Ω.
  • The IPW series outdoor antennas from Linx Technologies have an IP67 rating and can be permanently mounted to any metallic or non-metallic surface. These ground-plane independent half-wave dipoles are suitable for a wide operating frequency range from 617 MHz to 7.1 GHz, exhibit an 8.7 dBi gain, and are available with either an SMA, RP-SMA, or N connector. Applications include sub-GHz LPWAN and ISM, wireless cellular, and Wi-Fi.
