Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), is implementing a series of performance-enhancing upgrades for the KISS V3 family: Effective immediately, the industrial rackmount systems in 1U, 2U and 4U formats will be equipped with the latest Intel® Core(TM) or Intel® Xeon® processors (KISS 2U and 4U), offering more performance, increased reliability and better energy efficiency. Thanks to their resistance to high temperatures as well as shock and vibration, combined with high performance and extensive memory options, the KISS V3 rackmount systems are ideal for use in demanding industrial environments and with performance-hungry applications.
The powerful systems of the KISS V3 CFL series are based on latest processors of the 9th Gen Intel® Core(TM) i7/i5/i3 or 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® E series with up to eight cores on a FCLGA1151 socket with C246 chipset. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports and ten USB ports provide high data throughput and connectivity. Four DIMM sockets with up to 64GB and optional ECC memory for the Xeon® E variants provide sufficient memory. By equipping all rackmount systems of the KISS series with DDR 4 UDIMM 2666 MHz memory, improved energy efficiency is also achieved.
The optional redundant power supply units according to the new safety standard IEC62368-1 enable increased reliability. Especially for AI and machine learning applications a high performance 1200W AC power supply is available, which allows the installation of up to three high end GPU cards.
The KISS product family meets high requirements in extreme environments: Thanks to the effective “cooling concept”, the rackmount system can withstand ambient temperatures during continuous operation from 0°C up to plus 50°C; the memory elements even withstand temperatures from minus 20°C up to plus 70°C. Even an air humidity of 10 to 93 percent does not impair the function. The average operating time is over 50,000 hours; this corresponds to almost six years of continuous operation.
Thanks to 19-inch computer housings developed and manufactured in-house, the systems can be easily integrated into existing environments and adapted to a wide range of requirements.
Individual front covers can also be implemented quickly and cost-effectively for small and medium quantities.
