AWS Group – one of the UK’s leading independent Electronic Manufacturing Solutions (EMS) providers – has developed mirrored cable assembly operations in Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK and Namestrovo, Slovakia, enabling the company to deliver fast turn around, full production run and low cost manufacturing services.
Last year, the company introduced a quick turn around cable assembly service based its AWS Electronics manufacturing site in Newcastle-under-Lyme, reducing leadtimes for prototype or Fast Track requests to just three-five days. Normal production run work is completed in 15 working days. Now the company has set up a mirror facility in its newly-opened location in Slovakia so that it can offer low cost cable assembly to its high tech customer base. The Namestrovo plant has a dedicated cabling area measuring 450m2 with 56 fully-trained staff. Like the main plant in the UK, the Slovakian plant is more than just a manufacturing operation as it is supported by dedicated technical, purchase & stores activities.
