Dr. Thomas Klukas joins Formel D as COO

The Formel D Group expands its board: Effective June 1, 2020, Dr. Thomas Klukas has assumed the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the quality service provider in the automotive industry. With many years of international experience across a variety of managerial positions, the 55-year-old now heads the Group’s operational division. From this point on, Formel D’s executive management will consist of Dr. Jürgen Laakmann (CEO), Gian Mario Deligios (CFO), and Dr. Thomas Klukas (COO).

For the past 14 years, Thomas Klukas was employed by SGS SA, a world leading product testing company headquartered in Geneva, holding various international managerial positions. With a PhD in industrial engineering, he was responsible for the Transportation division as a member of the board. Before this, Thomas Klukas held various senior management positions at DEKRA SE.

“As a leading provider in the Automotive Service industry, Formel D has developed strongly in recent years, offering future-oriented growth potential on an international level,” emphasizes Thomas Klukas. “I am really looking forward to my new challenge and hope that I can work with the Formel D team to help guide our global customers to success over the long term.”

The Formel D CEO can now focus on the Group’s strategic development, and remains responsible for the integration and development of newly acquired subsidiaries.

Formel D has grown strongly in recent years, expanding its service portfolio and entering new international markets. The number of employees has more than doubled over the past three years. With this new board structure the Group can place an even greater focus on optimizing processes, digitalizing services, and expanding its range of products.
