For the first time, technology leader ASM is presenting the release of its latest developments on the internet in a livestream. Among the new products being shown in the one-hour live presentation, which will include an expert chat and subsequent discussion rounds, are the DEK TQ printing platform and the next generation of the SIPLACE SX placement platform with its enhancements in flexibility, performance and component spectrum. There will also be many key improvements in ASM’s software products like the SIPLACE Pro programming system or the ASM Setup Center. Another highlight will be the premiere of ASM Works, a software suite for the integrated smart factory that will significantly simplify connectivity, integration and process optimization in electronics production. The event, which is held twice a year, will demonstrate once again ASM’s innovative strength. ASM Impact events will combine and focus on these releases in the future.
ASM will present its latest hardware and software releases for SMT production on July 22 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. in a livestream titled “ASM Impact – Summer 2020 Releases”. In addition to expert chats, users will be able discuss more detailed questions with ASM specialists in spin-off sessions. Remote links to the two ASM Centers of Competence in Munich, Germany and Weymouth, UK, will enhance the studio livestream with production line presentations. “With this new form of a virtual conference, ASM will present its innovations for 2020 in a focused and concentrated format,” explains Alexander Hagenfeldt, head of SMT Solutions Marketing at ASM. “Our hardware and software solutions have many new functions. With ASM Impact we can reach many more interested parties than with a traditional event, and ASM users will be able to operate even more productively and successfully. This one hour of concentrated innovations, which users can spend at their desks and without having to waste time on physical travel, will definitely be worthwhile for every attendee.”
ASM innovations for 2020
The positive feedback from many users proves the usefulness of the platform’s contents. To quote just one customer: “ASM’s online training is a great help in my work. Many modules feature 3D animations or virtual-reality components that don’t just create a highly successful learning environment because it is so realistic, but are actually fun.”

The SMT Solutions segment within the ASM Pacific Technology Group
The mission of the SMT Solutions segment within the AMS Pacific Technology Group (ASMPT) is to implement and support the smart SMT factory at electronics manufacturers worldwide.
ASM solutions such as SIPLACE placement systems and DEK printing systems support the networking, automation and optimization of central workflows with hardware, software and services that enable electronics manufacturers to transition to the smart SMT factory in stages and enjoy dramatic improvements in productivity, flexibility and quality.
Since maintaining close relationships with customers and partners is a central component of ASM’s strategy, the company has established the SMT Smart Network as a global forum for the active exchange of information between and with smart champions. In addition to being a founding member of the ADAMOS joint venture for the development of an IIoT platform for manufacturing companies, ASM is establishing together with other SMT manufacturers the open HERMES standard as a successor to the SMEMA standard for M2M communication in SMT lines.
