Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), has added two new model variants of the KBox B-202-CFL industrial PC. In addition to high processor performance with 8th or 9th generation Intel® Core™ processors, the new KBox B-202-CFL ‘Smart Performance’ variant is equipped with an even more powerful 270 W power supply that enables the use of high-performance graphics cards with up to 120 W. The ‘Smart Performance’ variant thus offers impressive graphics performance and image quality for graphics-intensive applications, e.g. in the areas of digital signage, infotainment and optical quality control. The new ‘Smart Storage’ variant focuses on storage-intensive processes that require a high level of reliability.
Thanks to 9th generation Intel® Core™ processors and up to eight processor cores, the KBox B-202-CFL handles computationally intensive processes and large amounts of data effortlessly. In addition to its high performance, the compact embedded Box-PC is characterized by maximum expandability and a low noise level (maximum 34 dB(A)). Graphics or network cards (full height, half-length PCIe) can be added via the PCIe interface, making the KBox B-202-CFL ideal for demanding desktop and control room applications. In addition to the basic configuration with a 2.5” SATA SSD and an M.2 SSD, the ‘Smart Storage’ variant offers the option of storing data mirrored in RAID level 1 using two additional 2.5” SSD hard disks (fixed or removable). Alternatively, a 3.5” HDD with up to 12 TB can be integrated.
The industrial PC features two display ports V1.2, one DVI-D port, numerous interfaces such as four USB 2.0, four USB 3.1 Gen 1, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and one serial interface (COM1/RS232). Windows® 10 IoT Enterprise or Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS can be used as operating systems.
