Mouser Now Shipping AMD / Xilinx Kria K24 SOM for Industrial, Medical and Robotic Applications

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now shipping the Kria™ K24 system-on-module (SOM) from AMD / Xilinx. The K24 SOM features a cost-optimized, custom-built Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC device about half the size of a credit card for customers seeking the right power, cost, and performance for DSP-industrial based applications, such as motor controlmedical equipment, sensor fusion, multi-axis robotics, factory automation and more.

The AMD / Xilinx Kria K24 SOM, available from Mouser, is the newest addition to the Kria™ SOM portfolio, available in both commercial and industrial-grade variants. With 132 I/Os available to users, it can connect up to three medium-sized BLDC motors with encoders and provides TSN-enabled networking through four 1G Ethernet interfaces (2x PS GEM, 2x PL GEM). The resulting platform is highly scalable with many possible end applications and is expandable for evolving system requirements. It also offers enhanced security features through the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC’s hardware root of trust and a discrete TPM 2.0 device. The K24 SOM also provides flexibility in hardware and software compatibility for future standards and sensor needs, like connector compatibility, to simplify customization without PCB modifications.

Embedded software developers without FPGA expertise can get user-friendly support from the KD240 drives starter kit, an out-of-the-box ready development platform with accelerated applications that leverage multiple development flows, including Python, the MATLAB® Simulink® environment and more.
