Microchip’s new 8-bit MCUs offer highest level of advanced 16-bit PWM control low power & high-speed.
With the industry’s highest level of advanced 16-bit PWM control and accuracy, Microchip’s new 8-bit PIC16F(LF)178X microcontrollers (MCUs) enable higher efficiency and performance, as well as reducing BOM cost and space for closed-loop control in power supply and lighting applications.
Advanced 16-bit PWM control and accuracy is achieved via the new Programmable Switch-Mode Controllers (PSMCs) and advanced analogue peripherals include an on-chip 12-bit ADC to support very small voltage measurements, integrated op amp and mTouchTM capacitive sensing. High resolution voltage references are provided by an on-chip 8-bit DAC, whilst analogue comparators deliver a fast 50ns response time; with I2CTM, SPI and EUSART interfaces for serial communications.
The eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology, in the PIC16LF178X variants, enables active and sleep currents of 32µA/MHz and 50nA respectively, helping to extend battery life and reduce standby power consumption.
