On January 27, technology leader ASM will present its latest developments for SMT production in a livestream on the internet. One of the highlights of the “ASM Impact – Release Winter 2021” event will be the new version of the SIPLACE TX micron for producing SiPs and modules with maximum precision and efficiency. ASM will also unveil two new factory software solutions for the non-proprietary and factory-wide integration of machines and processes: the ASM Factory Equipment Center asset and maintenance management solution, and ASM FactoryChat, a cloud-based communication and knowledge tool for the shop floor. For its existing products, ASM will present innovations in the areas of printing, inspection and placement solutions as well as enhancements of its ASM Works smart factory suite. The agenda and registration details for “ASM Impact – Release Winter 2021” are available at www.asm-smt.com/en/news-center/asm-release-event-2021/.
ASM will present its latest hardware and software innovations for SMT production in two one-hour livestream events on January 27, 2021 at 9:00 and 15:00 CET.
“The response to our first livestream event this summer has encouraged us to hold the ASM Impact sessions in six-month intervals in line with our innovation release cycle,” explains Alexander Hagenfeldt, Head of Global Product Marketing at ASM. Since our portfolio management department releases new developments two times per year, we want to inform our customers all over the world accordingly. Aside from the new products, the ‘Release Winter 2021’ event will show users new ways of making their factories not just more productive and reliable, but also more resilient. The livestreams, expert chats and follow-ups will allow electronics manufacturers to collect a plethora of information in a compact format without having to leave their desk.
Using chat functions, participants can ask questions already during the presentation part of the event or use the following spin-off sessions to discuss important details with ASM’s specialists. In addition, ASM will provide each attendee with a comprehensive information package.
Following the ASM Impact overview and release event, users can get more detailed information in additional in-depth online events.
Maximum precision and efficiency for SiPs and modules
With the new version of the SIPLACE TX micron, ASM increases the machine’s placement performance to as much as to 96,000 cph (components per hour). Via various options, the machine covers the three precision classes of 25, 20 and 15 µm @ 3 σ on a single platform, reduces placement distances to as little as 50 µm, and handles components down to the 0201 metric size. Special functions such as Cracked-Die Inspection and Die Chipping Detection for thin-die handling ensures maximum yield and quality.
Improved inspection solution
The ASM Release event will also present new features for the ASM ProcessLens SPI solution. For example, ASM now guarantees that deposits on the edges of PCB in carrier will not generate any ‘false fails’. Additional improvements include faster, more flexible and more efficient programming and enhanced user-friendliness. And by fully supporting the IPC-Hermes 9852 and IPC-CFX standards, ASM is closing the last gap in process communication for SPI applications.
Software solutions for the Integrated Smart Factory
Two software solutions will have their world premiere at the ASM Impact event. ASM Factory Equipment Center establishes a centralized, transparent asset and maintenance management system. The browser-based software controls and automates service and maintenance schedules for ASM and non-ASM equipment across the whole factory. Work instructions and checklists support the service technicians, and all work gets documented centrally and transparently. ASM FactoryChat operates as a cloud-based, enterprise-wide messenger and communication tool. Its special feature: Even machines can post messages. As a result, all procedures, troubleshooting measures and much more can be combined into a knowledge database that is universally accessible. Shift reports, work instructions and other information can be distributed to any groups with the click of a button.
In addition, almost all modules of the ASM Works infrastructure software solutions have been extensively revised and offer significantly more functionality than the previous versions.
