STMicroelectronics B-CAMS-IMX Module, Now at Mouser, Enables Robotics and Machine Vision

by gabi

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor of the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now stocking the B-CAMS-IMX camera module from STMicroelectronics. The B-CAMS-IMX module is designed to work with STM32 discovery kits and development boards to bring machine vision to applications such as industrial automation, OCR and OCV label verification, robotics, defect detection, security, smart home appliances, and more.

The B-CAMS-IMX module, available from Mouser, is based on the high-resolution Sony IMX335LQN image sensor. The IMX335LQN is a diagonal 6.52 mm CMOS active pixel-type, solid-state image sensor with a square pixel array and 5.14 M effective pixels. This chip features an electronic shutter with variable charge-integration time.

The B-CAMS-IMX module also integrates ST’s VL53L5CX 8×8 multi-zone time-of-flight (ToF) sensor, which offers precise ranging in various ambient lighting conditions and a range of cover glass materials. Also onboard is the ISM330DLC iNEMO® 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). The ISM330DLC is a high-performance 3D digital accelerometer and 3D digital gyroscope tailored for Industry 4.0 applications. The module delivers high accuracy and stability with ultra-low power consumption, enabling long-lasting battery-operated applications.

The B-CAMS-IMX can be used with any STM32 board featuring a MIPI CSI-2® interface with a 22-pin FFC connector or added to custom designs.
