Sony Europe’s Image Sensing Solutions has announced a new cubic-sized module, the XCL-CG510 ( (https://www.image-sensing-solutions.eu/XCG-CG510.html) ) in its 5.1 MP range of Camera Link machine vision modules based on its GS CMOS modules.
The 29×29×30 mm module, shrinks the footprint by a third (34%) and volume by 57% over its dual-cable 154-fps sister module – the XCL-SG510.
The new colour / BW modules use a 2/3-type Pregius GS CMOS sensor and single-cable Camera Link interface to deliver 5.1 MP images at 35 fps. Both variants are available immediately in mass production quantities.
As per the XCL-SG510, the new module includes a burst-trigger function, which is capable of continuous shooting at the trigger timing, and allows the specification of exposure interval, number of exposures, and exposure time.
The cubic camera also includes an area gain function that allows minor adjustments in the brightness of up to 16 individually-set areas. Additional features include defect correction, a 9-pattern user-set shading correction, and a 3×3 pixel filter, to reduce noise, emphasise edges and extract contours – with 9 pre-installed filter-factor patterns.
Technical specifications
The XCL-CG510 outputs 35 2448×2048-pixel frames per second and is able to capture at illuminations down to 0.5 lx (BW) and 12 lx (colour). The c-mount lens modules have a 75 / 45 MHz switchable base clock and can be triggered using both hardware and software control.
It consumes 2.7 W max from a +12V power supply and can operate from -5°C to +45°C, and between 20 and 80% humidity. It has a vibration / shock resistance of 10 G / 70 G and a mean time to failure of 81,562 hours.
It meets UL60950-1, FCC Class A, CSA C22.2-No.60950-1, IC Class A Digital Device, CE : EN61326 (Class A), AS EMC: EN61326-1, VCCI Class A and KCC regulations.
