Nordic Semiconductor, a global leader in low power wireless connectivity solutions, will launch the first products from its nRF54 Series at electronica 2024, which will take place from 12 to 15 November in Munich, Germany.

The products being launched highlight the first phase of introductions for Nordic’s widely anticipated nRF54 Series of ultra-low power Bluetooth Low Energy Systems-on-Chip (SoCs).

The nRF54 Series represents significant advances in wireless IoT connectivity. It offers high processing power, increased memory capacity, and superior energy efficiency in a compact package. SoCs from this series have broad applicability in sectors including consumer, industrial, and healthcare. Visitors can learn more about these next-generation multiprotocol SoCs at Nordic’s booth (B4.439) at electronica 2024.

“The new nRF54 Series products reaffirm Nordic’s position as a global leader in wireless connectivity solutions,” says Vegard Wollan, CEO of Nordic Semiconductor. “I’m delighted to be at my first electronica as Nordic CEO, bringing these groundbreaking products to market. The show offers the ideal platform for showcasing our latest innovations for key IoT markets across all our wireless connectivity solutions, from Bluetooth LE to cellular IoT, Wi-Fi, Power Management, Thread, Matter, and more.”

Innovative solutions in cellular IoT, Wi-Fi, Matter, LE Audio, ML and Power Management

Emphasizing its capabilities as an innovator in cellular IoT, Nordic will also feature substantial enhancements to its nRF91 Series with the availability of its newly launched nRF9151, a low power System-in-Package (SiP) with integrated LTE-M/NB-IoT and DECT NR+ modem, and GNSS. In a future firmware release, the nRF9151 SiP will support Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) communication across Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks.

Further highlights from Nordic’s low power wireless solutions include:

  • Nordic’s second-generation Matter demonstration, with Thread running directly from a smartphone with no need for a Thread Border Router;
  • Thingy:91 X, a highly adaptable prototyping and asset tracking platform that combines cellular IoT, GNSS, and Wi-Fi location technologies;
  • The latest Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast™ broadcast technology, with demonstration emphasizing interoperability with modern smartphones, coupled with impressive power savings, advanced features, and audio broadcasting features;
  • Wi-Fi audio streaming and low-power Wi-Fi operation demo;
  • Machine learning for predictive maintenance demo;
