Mouser Electronics, onsemi, and Würth Elektronik Partner to Provide Solutions for Next-Generation Solar and Storage Systems

by gabi

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, has partnered with onsemi and Würth Elektronik to address the growing solar inverter market.

The growth of the global inverter market is primarily driven by the easy installation of micro and string inverters, as well as an increase in investment toward renewable power infrastructure construction. Significant investment in rural electrification and the renewable energy sector is expected to create lucrative opportunities for existing and emerging players in the market.

onsemi’s Silicon Carbide (SiC) solutions address the needs for the highest levels of efficiency, reliability, and safety while their boost and inverter power integrated modules (PIMs) anchor the grid-interface electronics. Würth Elektronik’s gate drivers, sensing control, and peripheral power products complete the system.

The onsemi NXH40B120MNQ1 is an EliteSiC PIM containing a dual full SiC boost stage consisting of three 40mohm/1200V SiC MOSFETs and three 40A/1200V SiC diodes. The module features low reverse recovery, fast-switching SiC diodes, a low inductive layout, solderable pins, and an integrated thermistor. This SiC MOSFET module is suitable for solar inverters and uninterruptable power supplies.

Using the novel field stop 7th generation technology and the Gen7 Diode in a TO247 3−lead package, the onsemi FGY140T120SWD 1200V 140A Fast Discrete IGBT offers the optimum performance with low switching and conduction losses for high-efficiency operations in applications like Solar, UPS, and energy storage systems.

The Würth Elektronik WE-AGDT high-power auxiliary gate drive transformers feature unipolar and bipolar outputs, making them suitable for powering state-of-the-art SiC MOSFET gate drivers up to 6W of power as well as IGBT and power MOSFETs.

The WE-CSTLF current sense transformers, also from Würth Elektronik, are specifically designed for low frequencies, catering to 50Hz/60Hz applications such as power lines. The WE-CSTLF series utilizes a laminated core material that effectively handles low frequencies, ensuring optimal performance and durability even in challenging operating conditions.
