Deutschmann Automation, the specialist for industrial data communication, presents the UNIGATE FALCON ECO protocol converter series. The flexible communication solution connects automation devices to standard protocols like Modbus RTU and proprietary, customized protocols to the desired Industrial Ethernet standard or Fieldbus interface via the serial interface. The UNIGATE FALCON ECO series starts with variants for PROFINET and EtherCAT. By using the ready-to-run DIN rail modules, design time and time-to-market of the individual automation solution can be significantly optimized.
UNIGATE FALCON ECO protocol converter series
The UNIGATE FALCON ECO protocol converter series integrates the serial RS232/RS422/RS485 interfaces by default. Transfer rates of up to 6MBaud are possible. Sending as well as receiving of data at the active serial interface is visualized by an Activity LED to optimize the initial operation or as display system. Serial protocols such as Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU (master or slave), and a protocol for ASCII-communication are pre-installed as standard.
The serial standard protocols can be configured user-friendly via the web interface of the UNIGATE FALCON. Flexible programming of a script from Deutschmann Automation enables the implementation of further standard and proprietary protocols. Scripts can be created with the free PC software tool Protocol Developer. The configuration of a PROFINET or EtherCAT interface is carried out via the respective GSDML or ESI device description file.
The UNIGATE FALCON ECO protocol converter series offers integrated service functions, which can be called up via a button on the front of the device. A hardware reset or a factory reset, for example, can be carried out without additional equipment.
The compact DIN rail module series with IP20 rating has dimensions of 25mm, 95mm and 86.5mm (WxDxH) and can be integrated directly in existing end products. All modules for different bus variants have an identical mechanical design and can therefore be used flexibly or replaced without additional effort.
