Moxa Inc., a leading provider of IP-based communication solutions, will be presenting itself at InnoTrans 2024 in Hall 4.1, Booth 550 in line with the theme “Forging Mobility Ahead.” The company will be showcasing the world’s first router that is certified according to IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 (SL2) as well as switches, IP cameras, and embedded railway computers with integrated cybersecurity for various applications in rail transportation. InnoTrans will be taking place from September 24 to 27, 2024, in Berlin.
More security and reliability for train control, communication, and multimedia networks
In the course of increasing automation and the transition to autonomous trains, the topic of cybersecurity is becoming more and more important. Moxa reacts to this with the IEC-62443-4-2-SL2-certified secure routers of the TN-4900 Serie series for train control management systems (TCMS) and Ethernet train backbone network management (ETBN). The devices offer the highest level of network security and enable faster upgrade cycles for regular security updates and new functionalities. Moxa’s latest innovation is the TN-4500B series of Ethernet switches with high-density 8/12/16/20/24/28 ports and up to 16 Gigabit ports. They provide seven times the computing power of the previous generation and are compliant with the IEC 62443-4-2 industrial cybersecurity standard. For both series, Moxa guarantees 15 years of availability with form-fit-function continuity for future product generations.
Train-to-ground communication for reliable CBTC and CCTV networks
Moxa’s complete modular Wi-Fi 6 solution meets all requirements of demanding train-to-ground (T2G) roaming applications. It allows for reliable CBTC (communication-based train control) and high-resolution CCTV (closed-circuit television) networks, which are crucial for safety and efficiency in rail transportation.
Embedded railway computers with virtualization for greater availability
Moxa’s latest generation of embedded railway computers feature embedded virtualization to increase availability while saving space, weight, and costs. The computers are secured with a hardware-based secure-boot design and use the open-source routing software “OpenWRT” as secure gateways for T2G functionalities. Thanks to 5G and Wi-Fi 6 support, no additional Wi-Fi infrastructure is required along the route. Even under full load, the embedded railway computers work reliably in a temperature range of -40 to +70 °C.
Long-term availability and the highest standards for railroad applications
All Moxa devices for the railroad sector are characterized by their long-term availability and meet the highest standards regarding safety, availability, and reliability in accordance with IEC 61375, IEC 62443, EN 50155, and EN 50121-4.
