The world’s economy is slowly getting back on its feet. Companies are investing money, and people are getting back together—in both private and professional settings. One such commercial setting will be productronica, a trade fair that will be held from November 16—19, 2021, in Munich and is expected to attract about 850 exhibitors. We asked Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, the Deputy CEO of Messe München, three questions about trends, exhibition highlights and the reasons that make in-person trade fairs so important.

Due to the increasing spread of Covid-19 in Europe and the associated ban on all major German events up to and including the end of August, the SMTconnect 2020 has been cancelled. The event in Nuremberg had previously been postponed from May to 28 – 30 July 2020 and will now take place again next year. Currently, efforts are being made to offer a digital alternative to industry exchange with virtual formats.
