Royal Philips Electronics subsidiary Assembléon has installed its first MC-1 surface mount pick & place machine in the United States, at market leading drive manufacturer Minarik Drives. The installation means that the nine year partnership between Minarik Drives and Assembléon continues to move forward.
While most US manufacturers are cutting back due to the economy, Minarik Drives, based in South Beloit, IL, continues to aggressively invest in capital equipment and people in a long-term plan to provide engineering resources and US built motor drives and electronic controls.
Minarik Drives was the first DC Drive manufacturer to use SMT Technology and continues to be at the forefront of control manufacturing technology. After researching all the SMT equipment on the market, Minarik determined that Assembléon provided the best overall solution for Minarik’s quality, technology, commercial goals.
With the addition of the high-performance Assembléon MC-1, Minarik Drives has significantly increased its production flexibility and capability. The MC-1 combines a high-mix capability with accurate chip and IC shooting, making it the most versatile Pick & Place machine available today. It meets a wide range of production needs by handling a broad component mix. This increased versatility has allowed Minarik Drives to increase its capacity and expand further into contract engineering and manufacturing of board level power and control components.
The new MC-1 fits in the same footprint as the previous Assembléon machines, allowing fast installation and no additional expenditures for electrical or air supply requirements.
